Amphipods have similar bodies to shrimp. They have three pairs of appendages, used for jumping, swimming, or burrowing. Most are very very small, ranging from 5 and 15 millimeters long! Most spend their time burrowing and creating tubes. They are typically detritivores or scavengers, eating waste off of the ocean floor.
