The chimaera are actually quite frightening. Instead of shark teeth, they have flat plated that they use to crush their prey. They feed on a variety of foods, like: crustaceans, mollusks, echinoderms, and fish. Generally the Chimaera is a bottom dweller, living at depths of nearly 2,545 meters or deeper! These spooky fish may also go by the names of ghost shark, spookfish, ratfish, or rabbitfish, due to their odd appearance.
